This trek is characterized by endless boulder hopping over terminal moraines. Strong ankles and sturdy trekking boots are absolutely mandatory.
Brittle, unstable glacial moraine. Crossing the debris of the Bhagirath Kharak glacier requires excellent balance and constant alertness for rockfall.
The final ridge before the lake is a steep ''scramble'' over loose gravel. Oxygen level is approximately 60%.
High-altitude endurance and lateral leg strength (for moraine navigation) are critical.
