Seasonal Overview

Like all Kumaon border treks, you have two specific windows: Pre-monsoon (Mid-May to June) for rich greenery and wildflowers, and Post-monsoon (Mid-September to October) for razor-sharp peak visibility before the winter completely seals the valley.

Important Tips

The drive from Dharchula into the Darma Valley is notoriously terrifying. It is a one-lane cliff road frequently blocked by fresh rockfalls. Only travel in designated local Max jeeps with experienced drivers.

Timing makes or breaks a trek. Send this to your group before you decide.
