Gaumukh Tapovan is a high-altitude trek that is only accessible when the Gangotri temple opens (May to Oct). It is legendary for its post-monsoon clarity (Sept-Oct) and its pleasant summer weather (May-June). Closed in winter due to heavy snow and temple closure.
