Kullu to Bijli Mahadev — Temple Visit and Forest Entry

Drive from Kullu to Chansari (12 km, 30 min). Walk the 3 km pilgrim path to the temple — time the summit arrival for 8-9 AM for morning light on the Kullu valley view. Spend 1-1.5 hours at the temple. Then depart north on the forest trail under guide direction. Camp is in the forest — basic but serene.

Forest Trail Traverse — Kullu Right Bank to Patlikuhl

The longest walking day — 16 km on established forest trails with 2,300 ft net descent. The trail passes through three distinct forest bands (subtropical, temperate, mixed) from 6,800 ft down toward the Beas valley at Patlikuhl. The shepherd goth stop mid-trail is the only infrastructure on this section. Arrive Patlikuhl by 3-4 PM for the Naggar connection.

Short final morning walk from Patlikuhl to Naggar (or short jeep connection, 6 km). Spend the afternoon at the Roerich Museum and the Naggar Castle. This is the walk's cultural finale — arriving on foot at the artistic and historic center of the Kullu kingdom after a 3-day forest traverse from the valley's sacred high point.
