Today's Objective
Start the trek near the famous Hadimba Temple or Manu Temple in Old Manali. The trail immediately begins a steep ascent through thick, ancient forests of Deodar and Pine. After about 4 hours of climbing, the tree line suddenly breaks, revealing the vast, sweeping green pastures of Lamadugh. Pitch camp and enjoy the sunset over the Pir Panjal range.
Key Landmarks
Staying At
The urban Manali settlement opens into a steep forested ascent toward the Lamadugh meadow.

Wake up early for spectacular sunrise views over Deo Tibba. After breakfast, explore the ridges surrounding the meadow. Begin the descent back to Manali using the same forest trail. The descent is fast but steep; use trekking poles to protect your knees. Arrive back in Old Manali by lunchtime.
Key Landmarks
The Lamadugh meadow descends steeply through the forest back to the Manali settlement.
Fit trekkers can use Lamadugh as a base camp and push further up to Khanpari Tibba (approx 13,000 ft) the next day for extreme high-altitude views before descending to Manali.
