Dense forest of oak, pine and rhododendron. Gujreni is a beautiful clearing — first campsite for some operators. Bekaltal lake has naturally brown water due to dissolved organic matter. Usually frozen in peak winter. Temple dedicated to Nag Devta beside the lake.

Forest opens to Tilandi Top — wide meadow with panoramic views of Trishul and Nanda Ghunti. Jhandi Top offers full mountain panorama including entire Roopkund trail. Descend 1.5km to Brahmatal campsite. Lake is 500m from camp — Lord Brahma said to have meditated here.
