Season & Weather Guide
December to February is peak season for Brahmatal Trek — the lake freezes solid and Mt. Trishul views are crystal clear.
Seasonal Verdict
Brahmatal is renowned as one of India's premier winter treks. Unlike many high-altitude routes that close, Brahmatal's geography allows for safe, spectacular snow trekking in the dead of winter (Dec-Feb). It also offers beautiful rhododendron blooms in spring and clear views in autumn.
Season at a Glance
Editor's Notes
January and February are peak season here — unusually, crowds are highest in the coldest months. This trek attracts winter-specific trekkers when every other trail is shut. Book 4–6 weeks ahead for these months.
October and November are the underrated window — post-monsoon clarity, first snowfall on upper sections, Trishul views at their sharpest, and significantly fewer trekkers than January.
April onwards the snow melts and the trek loses its primary appeal. The trail becomes a standard forest walk — nothing wrong with it, but not what Brahmatal is known for.
