The helicopter is the single biggest variable in Kedarnath pricing — ₹8,000–₹12,000 one way per person, not in most base packages, and sells out weeks ahead. Decide trek or fly before comparing any operator prices.
Key point
Sonprayag to Gaurikund requires a mandatory shared government jeep — private vehicles are not permitted. This ₹50–₹80 fare is almost never in packages. Small cost, but the queue for jeeps at peak season can add 1–2 hours.
Tip
Meals at Kedarnath are extremely limited and expensive — budget ₹400–₹800 per meal. Most packages include meals at base camps but not at the temple itself. Carry dry snacks for the trek day.
Helicopter Services
Kedarnath helicopter tickets sell out weeks in advance during peak season (May and October). Book exclusively via IRCTC official portal. Weight limit strictly enforced at 80kg.
