Seasonal Verdict

When should you go?

A phenomenal ridge traverse. May and June offer vibrant wildflowers on the Kullu approach slopes. September and October provide the absolute best panoramic clarity. The monsoon obscures all views, and winter buries the exposed ridge.

Editor's Insight

In October, the Kullu-side approach slopes turn a deep gold as the oak forests shed their leaves. Walking through golden forest to a 12,400 ft viewpoint over the entire Kullu valley is one of Himachal's great trekking moments.
