Rangthar Meadow is a broad alpine meadow at 10,600 ft above the Tirthan Valley — a pristine shepherd grazing ground deep inside the Great Himalayan National Park buffer zone. This 3-day moderate trek from Banjar passes through spectacular old-growth deodar and oak forest before emerging onto a vast open meadow with views of the snow Kullu Eiger (locally known as Deo Tibba) ridge. Rangthar is an outstanding wildlife destination within GHNP — Western Tragopan sightings are relatively frequent.
