The Experience

Introduction

The Pindari Glacier Trek is among the oldest and most celebrated trekking routes in the Kumaon Himalayas. Beginning from Khati village, the trail follows the Pindar River through forests of oak, rhododendron, and pine before gradually entering the rugged glacial valley.

The destination is the snout of the Pindari Glacier, one of Kumaon's best-known glaciers, surrounded by the high peaks of the Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, and Panwalidwar region. Well-established trails and traditional rest stops have made Pindari a favourite Himalayan trekking route for generations.

Suitable for trekkers with good fitness, the expedition offers an excellent introduction to glacier trekking without requiring technical mountaineering skills.
