Essential Planning Guide
Jhinda Bugyal is one of Garhwal's least-known high-altitude meadows — a broad pastoral plateau at 11,800 ft above Chamoli district's Urgam Valley, approaching via the ancient settlement near Kalpeshwar (the fifth and final Panch Kedar temple). The meadow is vast, gently contoured, and almost entirely solitary — with views of the Trishul-Nanda Ghunti massif, the western Kedarnath approaches, and on exceptionally clear days even Nanda Devi. The trail passes Kalpeshwar temple — the only Panch Kedar accessible year-round — making this a combined pilgrimage and wilderness experience uniquely located in the deepest part of the Chamoli high valleys.
