The Indrahar Pass Trek is a classic crossover in the Dhauladhar Range connecting the Kangra and Chamba regions. Crossing Indrahar Pass at approximately 14,245 ft, the route combines forest trails, alpine camps, rocky terrain, and panoramic mountain views, making it one of Himachal Pradesh's most popular high-altitude treks.

Common Questions

How difficult is the ascent from Triund?
It is a significant jump in difficulty. The trail becomes very rocky and steep as you move towards Lahesh cave and the pass.
Where can we stay overnight?
Triund ridge, Laka, or the Lahesh cave are the standard overnight camping hubs.
What peaks are visible from Indrahar?
You get an unobstructed view of Mt. Mani Mahesh Kailash and the Pir Panjal range.
Is the pass crossing possible in May?
Only with proper snow gear. The Chamba side of the pass remains heavily snow-bound until late June.
Can I do it as a first-timer?
Only if you are exceptionally fit. It is better to have done at least 1-2 moderate treks before attempting Indrahar.
Where is the starting point?
The trek starts from Dharamkot near McLeodganj.
Is there any water on the pass?
No. Carry at least 2 liters of water from Laka before starting the final ascent.
