Best Time for Cheni Pass Trek — Month-by-Month Guide

Timing is crucial. Avoid the monsoon from July to late August. The perfect window opens in early September when the long grass dries and the rocks are warm. Views of surrounding peaks are cleanest and sharpest during these stable windows.

Seasonal Verdict

When should you go?

Cheni Pass (14,300 ft) is a rugged, demanding Pir Panjal crossover connecting the Churah valley to the remote Pangi valley. It is an extremely isolated expedition. The Churah side receives immense monsoon rainfall, making summer (June) and early autumn (Sept-Oct) the only viable operational windows.
