The Baralacha La to Chandratal Trek is a remote high-altitude traverse in Himachal Pradesh that links the Baralacha La pass with the iconic Chandratal Lake. Following the upper Chandra River valley through vast glacial landscapes, river crossings, and alpine meadows, the trek offers a true wilderness experience with dramatic Himalayan scenery and minimal settlements along the route. It is best suited for experienced trekkers comfortable with long days at high altitude and self-sufficient camping.

The lake surface as a perfect high-altitude mirror at 6am — the surrounding peaks inverted in the still turquoise water.

Lalanti Shepherd Meadow at Sunset
