Today's Objective
Start early. The trail leaves the village and immediately begins a steep ascent through dense, ancient forests of oak and rhododendron. After a few hours of steady climbing, you break the tree line and enter the vast alpine meadows of Bankatiya. At the base camp (11,500 ft), you are rewarded with a stunning, 180-degree panorama of the Greater Himalayas. After spending an hour at the top, begin the steep descent back to your homestay in Laspa.
