Drive Munsiyari to Laspa Village
Drive deep into the Johar Valley, following the roaring Gori Ganga river. The road is rugged and often unpaved in sections. You will arrive at the remote settlement of Laspa. Spend the afternoon exploring the village, interacting with the locals, and preparing your daypack for tomorrow's climb.

🏕 Establish Bankatiya Base Camp
Start early. The trail leaves the village and immediately begins a steep ascent through dense, ancient forests of oak and rhododendron. After a few hours of steady climbing, you break the tree line and enter the vast alpine meadows of Bankatiya. At the base camp (11,500 ft), you are rewarded with a stunning, 180-degree panorama of the Greater Himalayas. After spending an hour at the top, begin the steep descent back to your homestay in Laspa.

Drive Laspa to Munsiyari
After breakfast in the village, board your vehicle and drive back along the gorge to Munsiyari, concluding the expedition. You can either stay the night in Munsiyari or immediately begin the long drive back towards Kathgodam.
