The trek starts right behind the famous Hadimba Temple in Old Manali. The trail immediately pitches upward, taking you through a thick, ancient forest of Deodar, Pine, and Oak. The ascent is steep and continuous. As you break the tree line, the trail opens up into the sprawling, lush green alpine meadow of Lamadugh, offering your first grand views of the Manali valley below.

Today's Objective
Today is the highlight of the expedition. You ascend further along the ridge line towards Khanpari Tibba (which offers views reaching over 13,000 ft). The trail then dips into a hidden basin where the pristine, oval-shaped Rani Sui Lake sits. After spending time at the lake taking in the views of Deo Tibba and Indrasan, you descend slightly to camp in the massive, rolling meadows of Riyali Thach.

Break camp and begin a long, sustained descent back into the tree line. The trail winds through dense pine forests, passing occasional shepherd huts and descending rapidly towards Shang village or directly back to the Hadimba temple roadhead, depending on the operator's exact route. The trek concludes in Manali by late afternoon.
