Depart Haridwar by 5 AM. Scenic drive through the Alaknanda valley passing all major Prayags. Joshimath (1,875 m) serves as the acclimatization stop — crucial for pilgrims coming from the plains. Evening visit to Narsingh Temple in Joshimath town.
Drive 45 km from Joshimath to Badrinath (3,133 m). Badrinath is fully road-accessible — no trek required. Arrive by noon, freshen up, and attend afternoon darshan. Ritual dip in Tapt Kund hot spring mandatory before entering the temple. Evening Aarti at 8:30 PM is the spiritual highlight.
Wake up at 4 AM for Mahabhishek darshan (pre-booking required). After darshan, visit Brahma Kapal ghat for Pitru Tarpan (ancestor rites). Mana village is 3 km from the temple — the last inhabited village before the Tibet border. See Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, and the Saraswati river origin. Vasudhara Falls is 5 km from Mana — optional walk for fit pilgrims.
Depart by 5 AM for a long return drive. Devprayag — the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi forming the Ganga — is worth a 20-minute stop. Attend Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, Haridwar in the evening. Many operators end the tour here.
