Vibe & Scenery

The Experience

Introduction

Aancha Top is one of the lesser-known ridge treks in the western Garhwal Himalayas, located above the Yamunotri Valley. Unlike Uttarakhand's better-known winter destinations such as Kedarkantha, the trail remains lightly visited while offering a similar combination of forest walking, snow-covered landscapes in winter, and expansive Himalayan views.

Beginning from remote mountain villages, the route ascends through dense oak, rhododendron, and pine forests before reaching the open grasslands of Dinnala Bugyal. The final ridge to Aancha Top rewards trekkers with wide views of the Bandarpoonch massif, Black Peak (Kalanag), and surrounding Garhwal ranges.

Suitable for trekkers with moderate fitness, Aancha Top is an excellent choice for those seeking solitude, forest camping, and an uncrowded Himalayan summit experience.
