Essential Planning Guide
Vibe & Scenery
The Nafran Valley Trek explores one of Kashmir's quieter alpine valleys, beginning from the popular Aru Valley before leaving the main trekking corridors behind. The route ascends through conifer forests and broad meadows alongside glacial streams toward the striking Harnag Lake.
Crossing Harnag Pass, trekkers descend into another remote alpine basin containing Harbhagwan Lake, surrounded by rugged mountain scenery and seasonal grazing pastures. Throughout the journey, expansive meadows, wildflowers, and panoramic ridgelines define the landscape.
Combining moderate altitude with remote wilderness and varied terrain, Nafran Valley is well suited to trekkers seeking a quieter alternative to Kashmir's better-known routes.
