Drive to Hadsar & Trek to Kugti Village

BharmourKugti Village

Drive a rugged road to Hadsar (the starting point for Manimahesh), but turn onto the trail heading towards Kugti. The trail is heavily wooded, passing through ancient Gaddi tribal settlements.

Start at 2 AM. Rope up to cross the deeply crevassed glacier. The final 1,000 feet is an agonizing 60-degree ice and rock wall. Crest the pass and stare into the barren Lahaul desert. Descend quickly to avoid afternoon rockfall.

Trek to Rapé Roadhead & Drive to Keylong / Manali

Board vehicles. Depending on your logistics, either head deeper into Lahaul to Keylong, or drive through the Atal Tunnel to immediately re-enter the lush Kullu valley at Manali.
